This Week’s News

A WARM WELCOME to the congregations of St Martin’s, St Mark’s and St Hugh’s who are joining us for the parish Eucharist this morning. The joint Eucharist on the fifth Sunday of the month is always special and wonderfully supported.

PAM COSTIN is someone we shall be getting to know really well in the coming weeks. This morning, at the Cathedral, Pam is being ordained priest by the Bishop of Lincoln and tomorrow she is joining us on a three month placement as Assistant Curate. We are delighted to welcome her as a member of the team. Pam spent a morning with us last week and we are all looking forward to having her on board and working with her.

DAVID TEASDEL is being made Deacon this morning in St Alban’s Abbey to serve in the parish of All Saints, Leighton Buzzard. David spent a month with us a couple of years ago when he was a theological student at Mirfield. He stayed with Freda Phillipson in Abbey Drive West and Freda is representing the parish at his ordination .

TOMORROW there is a day of prayer and study in Woodhall Spa for those in the parish who have spent the last two years on the Bishop’s course under the tutelage of Terry and Sally Bardell. This marks the end of the programme and both the students and the tutors deserve our congratulations.

MEMBERS of the Mothers’ Union are having a day out on Wednesday with a visit to Burton Agnes and we hope a good time will be had by all.

DON’T MISS Stephen Birchs’ Church tour on Thursday evening at 7.00 pm or Anthony Pinel’s Organ Recital on Friday at 12.30 pm
